MOST of us have sat in a public space and done some people-watching: people waiting for coffee, waiting for a train, waiting in line to use the self-serve checkout. What do they all usually have in common? Answer: a phone!<\/p>\n

Communication surrounds us; we are bombarded with messages everywhere we go. Even when we fill up the car with petrol, a TV screen and video advertisement plays, enticing us to watch and listen.<\/p>\n

There are now so many ways to communicate, and we all have our own preferences when connecting with the world.<\/p>\n

While in many arenas it is apparent the ‘old’ face-to-face ways are being replaced by ‘new’ faceless automation, it’s not always the case.<\/p>\n

Since 1883, Tuckers Funeral and Bereavement Service has supported generations of families across the region, providing personalised care at a time when clear, compassionate communication matters most.<\/p>\n

Now, 143 years later, Tuckers continues to embrace change but holds on to its foundational values and beliefs by providing support before, during and after the loss of a loved one, as well as utilising a variety of options for communication.<\/p>\n

At the time of loss and when making funeral arrangements, the funeral director gathers a lot of information from the family and then responds with personalised guidance and assistance.<\/p>\n

A face-to-face meeting in one of Tuckers’ arrangement spaces is offered first. It is crucial that the exchange of information happens in a thorough, easy-to-understand and respectful way.<\/p>\n

Sometimes a face-to-face meeting isn’t the best option for family members, so video calls over mobile phones and computers are more appropriate.<\/p>\n

Often during arrangements, several communication methods are being used simultaneously so that everyone can contribute and be part of the conversation. Even paperwork can be signed electronically now.<\/p>\n

Tuckers offers three convenient locations for people to meet and receive the support they need in Geelong West, Grovedale and Torquay.<\/p>\n

These contemporary meeting spaces are designed to provide a secluded and reflective space away from the family home where people, callers and a lot of distractions are present.<\/p>\n

Touches like these are part of Tuckers’ care and commitment to those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one.<\/p>\n
