Two men have been charged following an alleged violent home invasion and assault in Lara last month that left two tradesmen seriously injured.<\/p>\n

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the men after executing search warrants in Hoppers Crossing on Tuesday morning as part of the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

Police allege five male offenders approached two tradesmen working at a property on Sparrowhawk Avenue about 11.40am on Monday, April 13.<\/p>\n

It is alleged the offenders entered the premises and assaulted the victims with weapons following a confrontation.<\/p>\n

The two victims, aged 35 and 36, were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

The offenders allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.<\/p>\n

A 34-year-old man and a 44-year-old man were arrested during the Hoppers Crossing warrants and later charged with aggravated home invasion involving an offensive weapon, aggravated burglary involving an offensive weapon, intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally causing injury, and violent disorder.<\/p>\n

Both men were scheduled to face Wyndham Magistrates\u2019 Court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Police say the investigation remains ongoing, with detectives still searching for three outstanding offenders believed to be connected to the incident.<\/p>\n

Investigators are continuing to appeal for public assistance as they work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.<\/p>\n
