LADIES armed with bubbles and balloons converged at Barwon Heads Football and Netball Club at the weekend to raise money for a good cause.<\/p>\n
About 80 women dressed in a touch of white attended the club\u2019s annual Ladies Day at Howard Harmer oval on Saturday, which this year raised money for ovarian cancer research.<\/p>\n
Organiser Aleisha Walters said players\u00a0and their sisters, mums, aunties, friends and daughters joined in for the fun-filled\u00a0afternoon that hoped to raise about $1,000 for the cause.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a really nice day,\u201d Ms Walters said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was amazing food on the grazing table, music and punches, and while the weather was quite cold, we got out on the balcony to watch the game when we could.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were given some amazing donations and we did things a bit differently this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone got a balloon on their way in and then we popped them at the end of the event, and those with a ticket inside, won a prize.<\/p>\n
