GEELONG fans will once again be asked to turn GMHBA Stadium into a sea of white when the Cats host the Gold Coast Suns later this month.<\/p>\n
The club has confirmed the return of its White Out match for the round 14 clash, with supporters encouraged to wear white as part of a stadium-wide show of support.<\/p>\n
For the first time, Geelong players will wear a dedicated White Out guernsey, while every fan attending the game will receive a rally towel to wave throughout the night.<\/p>\n
The concept builds on the Cats’ previous White Out events, which have drawn inspiration from the famous “white out” traditions seen in American college sport and are designed to create a distinctive home-ground atmosphere at GMHBA Stadium.<\/p>\n
Geelong chief executive Steve Hocking said the event had become a unique part of the club’s connection with supporters.<\/p>\n
“White Out is a special moment for our club, bringing our entire community together for an unforgettable experience,” Hocking said.<\/p>\n
“As White Out returns to GMHBA Stadium, we’re calling on every supporter to wear white and wave your rally towel, creating an electric atmosphere that lifts our players and makes the night unmistakably Geelong.”<\/p>\n
Geelong forward Ollie Dempsey said the players fed off the energy created by the crowd.<\/p>\n
“When the crowd is in it with us, it brings a real energy to change the feel of the stadium,” Dempsey said.<\/p>\n
“We want fans there, loud, dressed in white, with rally towels waving, and help us create something special.”<\/p>\n
The White Out fixture will form part of a significant month for the Cats, who remain firmly in the AFL finals race and are looking to maximise their home-ground advantage during the second half of the season.<\/p>\n
