ROYAL Geelong Yacht Club\u2019s Women In Sailing\u00a0group held their annual three-day regatta in June.<\/p>\n
Sailing on a Columbia 22-footer named James, which had been lent to the club, it\u2019s the second time the vessel has been utilised by the local crew, consisting of Jan Jones, Avril Sellers, Michelle Doncaer and Cathy Pak-poy (who came down for the race from Sydney).<\/p>\n
Day one saw extremely light winds, with a comment made that \u201chopefully the god\u2019s will be kinder tomorrow!\u201d.<\/p>\n
On day two, three races were held in variegated winds.<\/p>\n
Day three\u2019s first race started in 10-15 knots of wind, increasing in the afternoon to gusts of 25- 30 knots and a northerly, which saw boats retiring and even some spinnakers broken.<\/p>\n
The Women in Sailing crew enjoyed two good results on day three with a thoroughly enjoyable\u00a0weekend had by all, catching up to some old friends and meeting some new ones.<\/p>\n
