A $3.25m redevelopment of Leopold Memorial Reserve has delivered new sporting facilities and improved community spaces for the growing Leopold community.<\/p>\n
The project includes new multipurpose sports courts and a netball warm-up court, upgraded cricket practice nets, improved lighting and an electronic scoreboard.<\/p>\n
The historic Leopold Memorial Arch has also been restored and relocated.<\/p>\n
The redevelopment replaces ageing infrastructure and is expected to support growing participation in local sport, particularly among women and girls, while improving accessibility across the reserve.<\/p>\n
The project was funded by the federal government.<\/p>\n
Federal member for Corangamite Libby Coker said the redevelopment would ensure the reserve could better meet the needs of the growing community.<\/p>\n
“Leopold Memorial Reserve is one of the most important community sporting precincts in our region, with local football, netball and cricket clubs, Scouts, volunteers and families all making use of this space throughout the year,” she said.<\/p>\n
“We worked so closely with the clubs and user groups throughout this project to understand what was needed and make sure this investment delivered facilities that will serve Leopold well into the future.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
