While the Blues’ ladder position has been the most visible sign of improvement, Moloney said the biggest changes have come internally.<\/p>\n
He said building a stronger club culture had been a major focus since taking over as coach last year.<\/p>\n
“It’s amazing what bit of momentum and belief can do,” he said. “We’ve put a lot of effort into shifting the culture from the old Winch to new Winch.<\/p>\n
“Everyone who’s at the club from top to bottom is invested and can see what we’re doing, what we can potentially achieve, but it’s just a matter of winning each week as it comes, as clich\u00e9 as it is.”<\/p>\n
Winchelsea face another major test over the next fortnight with clashes against fourth-placed Bell Post Hill and third-placed East Geelong.<\/p>\n
Moloney knows there is plenty still of football to be played, but said a first finals appearance since 2014 would be the ultimate reward for the club’s milestone year.<\/p>\n
“There’s less room in the rooms after games now, because there’s more people getting on board,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We’re one big club and we’re all wanting to achieve success.<\/p>\n
“In our 150th year, to try and have everyone in finals would be incredible.<\/p>\n
“I know there’s a lot of old Winch people who have always been around, who would be absolutely ecstatic to see all of us in finals and hopefully we can achieve that.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
