The Roos came from 27 points down at three-quarter time of their Round 8 clash at Alcoa Oval to snatch a five-point victory, with Jordan Erskine kicking four goals. He now leads the BFL goal kicking with 60 majors for the season after slamming home ten goals in the Roos\u2019 win over Newcomb last week. He is now seven goals clear of Seagull Mitch Phelps with three rounds to play.<\/p>\n<p>Last meeting: Round 8, 2018: Anglesea 11.13 (79) def. Barwon Heads 11.8 (74) @ Alcoa Oval<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Barwon Heads by 14 points<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ocean Grove (6th) vs Modewarre (5th)\u00a0<\/strong><strong>@ Ray Menzies Oval, Saturday 2:10pm<\/strong><br \/>\nYOU only have to take a quick glance at the BFL ladder to know how important Saturday\u2019s clash between Ocean Grove and Modewarre is. The fifthplaced Warriors sit just percentage clear of the sixthplaced Grubbers with three rounds remaining ahead of the meeting, which is followed by match-ups with Barwon Heads and Geelong Amateur. Ocean Grove will round out its season against Drysdale and Queenscliff. Modewarre had the better of the Grubbers when they last met in Round 9, with the Warriors holding Ocean Grove to just one goal in the first half. All eyes will be on the ruck battle between Modewarre co-coach John Meesen and star Grubber Andrew Jarvis.<\/p>\n<p>Last meeting: Round 9, 2018: Modewarre 12.17 (89) def. Ocean Grove 6.11 (47) @ Community Bank Oval<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Modewarre by 9 points<\/p>\n<p><strong>Geelong Amateur (3rd) vs. Queenscliff\u00a0<\/strong><strong>(4th) @ Queens Park, Saturday 2:10pm<\/strong><br \/>\nQUEENSCLIFF has put itself in the frame for the double-chance after holding off a fast-finishing Modewarre for a crucial four-point win. Not only has it given the Coutas a one-game buffer inside the top five, but it has also brought them to within a game of this week\u2019s opponent Geelong Amateur, which sits third on the ladder. However, it continues a tough final month for Queenscliff, which also meets Anglesea and Ocean Grove to round out the home-and-away season. Coutas spearhead Daniel DeGois followed up his seven goals against Portarlington with six majors against the Warriors. A win for Ammos, who suffered a second loss for 2018 to Barwon Heads, will almost make a spot in the qualifying final against Anglesea a certainty.<\/p>\n<p>Last meeting: Round 8, 2018: Geelong Amateur 14.12 (96) def. Queenscliff 10.8 (68)<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Geelong Amateur by 23 points<\/p>\n<p><strong>Newcomb (9th) vs. Portarlington\u00a0<\/strong><strong>(10th) @ Newcomb Sand &amp; Soil Oval,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Saturday 2:10pm<\/strong><br \/>\nTHE last realistic opportunity for Newcomb and Portarlington to claim the four points presents itself when the two clubs meet on Saturday. The winner will more than likely avoid the wooden spoon, which has been shared between the two clubs since 2008. Based on the previous meeting back in Round 8, the Power will start favourites after handing out a 79-point hiding to the Demons. On that day, Andrew Mead-Harding kicked five goals. He has been one of the revelations of 2018 for Newcomb having kicked 37 goals to sit fourth on the BFL goal kicking table. Portarlington 7.18 (60) @ Ron Evans Oval<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Newcomb by 22 points<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drysdale (8th) vs. Torquay (7th) @\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mortimer Oval, Saturday 2:10pm<\/strong><br \/>\nTORQUAY has reinvigorated its premiership defence after knocking over Ocean Grove by 54 points in arguably its most impressive performance of 2018. Paul McMahon starred with five goals, while captain Ben Raidme and big man Connor Williamson also starred in Tim Carty\u2019s 200th game. The Tigers have moved to within a win of the top five ahead of the final three rounds of the season, where they\u2019ll play the bottom three teams. That starts with a trip to Drysdale on Saturday to take on a Hawks\u2019 line-up full-of-confidence after beating Portarlington last week. Hawk Matt Hebbard has played just nine games in 2018 but is averaging 2.5 goals a game and will need to be curbed for Torquay to keep its season alive.<\/p>\n<p>Last meeting: Round 10, 2018: Torquay 15.15 (105) def.
