MEMBERS of the Clifton Springs Men\u2019s Shed celebrated their 10th anniversary during a luncheon last week.<\/p>\n
Held at the Clifton Springs Bowling Club, present and past members, along with their partners, joined in for a meal, entertainment, banter and good fellowship. The Shed, along with about 1,000 other Men\u2019s Sheds throughout Australia, has a focus of betterment of men\u2019s health and wellbeing within local communities.<\/p>\n
It has evolved over the past decade into an active facility where men of all ages and capabilities can integrate socially or join in one of the many activities on offer such as wood or metal work, art, pool or other games, community involvements, computer and internet learning; or hear from a range of guest speakers relevant to a myriad of health, lifestyle or career\/life experiences.<\/p>\n
Members undertake fundraising pursuits to encourage fellows to combine their energies in many ways to provide funds necessary to enable ongoing Shed functions and expenses, plus, enable the shed to maintain a range of community involvements.<\/p>\n
These include community markets \u2013 Drysdale Rail Station every second Sunday of the month between November and April, sausage sizzles on the first Saturday of each month, and garage sales held periodically during the year (normally March and November).<\/p>\n
