THE local community is invited to have its say on the concept design and \u2018feature piece\u2019 of one of Ocean Grove\u2019s most well-loved playgrounds.<\/p>\n
Kingston Park is set to undergo a $300,000 facelift and the City of Greater Geelong\u2019s project team will be available to discuss what residents like or dislike about the proposed designs at an open day on Saturday August 25.<\/p>\n
Mayor Bruce Harwood said the project team had come up with some fantastic concepts for the upgrade of Kingston Park and he was looking forward to hearing what the community thought.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe elements of the proposed playground have been designed to blend into the natural setting of the surrounding Kingston Park Reserve, which features the native Yellow Gums,\u201d Mr Harwood said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage anyone interested in the future of this park to jump online, fill in the survey and come along to the site open day to tell us your thoughts on the concept design.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t miss your chance to have an impact on the final design of this popular playground.\u201d Surrounded by bushland, the new playground design will feature natural elements that incorporate the idea of \u2018landscape as playground\u2019.<\/p>\n
Pockets of both passive and active play areas will be arranged around a central tower unit, which will form the feature piece of the playground.<\/p>\n
The design of the playground aims to support a child\u2019s growth and development in playful setting, providing modern and accessible equipment that engages children and encourages imaginative

The open day will be on Saturday August 25, with the project team on site from 10.30am until noon.<\/p>\n
