VFA Learning Geelong will launch their Diploma of Enrolled Nursing next month, led by medical professional Charisse Spence. Charisse is an experienced Registered Nurse, having worked in a variety of roles throughout her career. Twelve months ago, Charisse became the Head of Nursing and Health at VFA Learning. She shared some insight into her career and the upcoming Enrolled Nursing Diploma.<\/p>\n
1. Tell us about your career to date.<\/strong> 2. Could you please explain what it means to be\u00a0<\/strong>an \u2018Enrolled Nurse\u2019?<\/strong>
\n\u201cI\u2019m a Registered Nurse with a background in critical care, clinical research and primary health. I have completed post-graduate study in coronary care and worked for several years in both ICU and CCU. I spent 11 years working in Cardiology Research at Barwon Health, and two years ago I became the Regional Manager for the Geelong Otway Region for the Western Victoria Primary Health Network, working with GPs, Allied Health and multiple other Community Health Professionals. I\u2019ve have supported both undergraduate and post graduate nursing students as a preceptor and I have an ongoing interest in Education and Evidence Based Practice.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cEnrolled Nurses are a valued member of the healthcare workforce who practice under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse. Upon graduation, Enrolled Nurses can deliver care to patients in many different settings. Enrolled Nurses work in aged care, primary care and acute care settings, in a hospitals or mental health facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n
