TORQUAY\u2019S dedication to dance is paying off with three of Torquay Dance Academy\u2019s students bringing in honours in the last month.<\/p>\n
Senior Jett Graham-Russell undertook her Grade 6 Cecchetti exam bringing in a result of \u201cHonours\u201d- the highest award given.<\/p>\n
Principal of Torquay Dance Academy Kim Fraser said Jett had been with the academy since it opened in 2013 and has trained hard every year on her technique and grace.<\/p>\n
\u201cCombined with the dedication of our senior ballet teachers to help achieve these results we couldn\u2019t be more proud of her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another original TDA student, Kai von Lueders, placed in the top 16 in Australia for Under 12 Bboys.<\/p>\n
Under the moniker Bboy Magic he battled against bboys from all around the country in a style known as breaking or breakdancing.<\/p>\n
Magic has been training with Torquay Dance Academy for four years<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s taken me four years to get to that position but it was worth it and such a cool experience,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Aspen Edwards, at the young age of seven, has won the first place trophy in her ballet solo at Geelong Eisteddfod.<\/p>\n
It required her learning a three-minute ballet solo and performing against other ballet dancers from around Victoria.<\/p>\n
\u201cAspen is only a few years into her ballet training but loves it and practices at home all the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe takes private classes with our senior ballet teachers to prepare for her competitions\u201d Ms Fraser said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTorquay Dance Academy has always been known for offering dance classes for all types and levels of dancers but for those who\u2019d like to take it more seriously, we offer streams within the school to make sure they can excel in their passion.<\/p>\n
