{"id":14455,"date":"2018-08-29T01:56:56","date_gmt":"2018-08-29T01:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=14455"},"modified":"2018-08-30T12:20:13","modified_gmt":"2018-08-30T12:20:13","slug":"highly-talented-players-make-their-senior-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/highly-talented-players-make-their-senior-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Highly talented players make their senior debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BHFNC is proud of its Junior Football<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Program (for girls and boys).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here is a brief snapshot of five of our junior players who have transitioned into senior footy this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ZACH WALTER<\/strong><br \/>\nLast year\u2019s under 18 premiership captain hit the ground running straight away this season. After having a taste of senior footy last year, Zach has quickly showcased his talents, which we became accustomed to through the juniors.<\/p>\n<p>His ability to break the lines with pace and damaging foot skills have been a real highlight throughout the year. We can\u2019t wait for Zach to continue his development at the club as he moves from the backline into the midfield.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ZEDEKAI COPLAND<\/strong><br \/>\nHard to miss with his long blond hair, Kai has shown his enormous potential to become a key player for the club for a long period of time.<\/p>\n<p>Like Zach, Kai has had a taste of senior footy in the previous years, making his debut when still in under 16 footy. His relentless attack at the footy and often easy-going kicking style make him a favourite of ours to watch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NIC SUTTON<\/strong><br \/>\nNic made it impossible for the seniors not to give him an opportunity this season. Playing all of his juniors at centre half back and being a fantastic interceptor of the ball, we got a look at his forward craft this year and he has never really looked back.<\/p>\n<p>Quick, athletic strong hands and the love of a goal have us excited at the prospect of a highly talented key position player coming through.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOAH YOUNG<\/strong><br \/>\nNoah over the past two to three seasons has been the club\u2019s most consistent under 18 performer.<\/p>\n<p>A highly dedicated player who leaves no stone unturned in getting the best out of himself, Noah was rewarded this year with selection in the final Geelong Falcons squad of 40, as well as breaking into the senior team.<\/p>\n<p>Noah\u2019s ability to cover the ground and get to so many contests means he wins plenty of the ball and often uses it very well. With a huge amount of scope in his game, Noah is someone that the club is really excited about.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAM HARRIS<\/strong><br \/>\nNever have I met a more unlucky player in my time in footy \u2013 but never have I met someone who keeps responding to each setback he receives.<\/p>\n<p>Sam has the rare ability to play on every line on the ground and not look out of place. He gave everyone a glimpse of his ability in his first senior game this year.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, through school commitments we miss out on seeing Sam a lot and then to see him go down with an ACL injury late in the year was a cruel blow.<\/p>\n<p>Keep an eye out for this one \u2013 a future club captain!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sam Schaller &#8211; BHFNC player and coach<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BHFNC is proud of its Junior Football Program (for girls and boys).
