THE state government has announced the finalists in this year\u2019s Victorian Premier\u2019s Sustainability Awards.<\/p>\n

Minister for Environment Lily D\u2019Ambrosio last week revealed the shortlist for the awards, which recognise individuals, communities, organisations, governments and businesses across Victoria that are driving a sustainable future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe finalists in this year\u2019s Premier\u2019s Sustainability Awards are an especially diverse group from every sector in Victoria,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI congratulate all finalists for their innovative work \u2013 using resources wisely and promoting sustainable practices here in Victoria.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s finalists across 10 categories include a social enterprise that teaches sustainability as a work skill, a zero emission portable vehicle repair business, and an online marketplace for quality surplus food.<\/p>\n

Winners will be announced at the Premier\u2019s Sustainability Awards gala dinner at The Forum in Melbourne on Thursday October 11.<\/p>\n

The Premier will also select two overall winners of the Premier\u2019s Regional Recognition Award and the Premier\u2019s Recognition Award, to be announced at the ceremony.<\/p>\n
