BARWON Heads surfer Ellie Harrison has ensured a title will return to Victoria after her win at The Rip Curl GromSearch National Series in NSW last week.<\/p>\n
Harrison took top honours in the 14-and-Under Girls after a commanding display of surfing in the final, smashing a mammoth 16.83 two-wave heat total.<\/p>\n
The Rip Curl GromSearch National Series saw six new champions crowned following a thrilling day of finals action in picture-perfect four-foot Merewether. Another local Arabella Wilson from Jan Juc came runner\u2019s up in the 16-and- Under Girls.<\/p>\n
The prestigious event series gives 16-and-under surfers a chance to compete against their nations\u2019 best, and 2018 marks its 20th year running.<\/p>\n
One of the longest Junior Surfing Series in the world, it has become a crucial stepping-stone in the development of junior surfers.<\/p>\n
Participants can look forward to activities, giveaways and the chance to meet surfers from all over the country at each event, as well as hone their skills in the water.<\/p>\n
Athletes will gain valuable experience with the same system of priority and judging used across all elite surfing events.<\/p>\n
The next event will be held at Yorke Peninsula in South Australia from October 27 to 28, and Sunshine Coast in Queensland from December 14 to 18.<\/p>\n
