THE Salvation Army will bring a musical touch to this year’s Remembrance Day commemorations, with the Salvation Army Staff Band to join the Torquay RSL’s service at Point Danger.<\/p>\n
The November 11 service will be especially significant, as it will mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice – the end of World War I.<\/p>\n
The ceremony will include a formal wreath laying, and is expected to be attended by many residents as well as visitors.<\/p>\n
A lone bugler from the Geelong West Brass Band will sound the \u201cLast Post\u201d as vintage aircraft fly over Point Danger.<\/p>\n
Torquay RSL will run a sausage sizzle next to the ceremony site, with gold coin donations to go towards Torquay RSL’s Welfare Fund.<\/p>\n
After the ceremony, the Salvation Army Staff Band will move to Elephant Walk for a free concert, to be held between 1-3pm.<\/p>\n
