CLIFTON Springs Primary School\u2019s Student Representative Council (SRC) has taken out Primary School SRC of the Year in Victoria.<\/p>\n
The announcement was made at the recent Student Voice Recognition Awards, held at Docklands in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
This was the second time CSPS have been nominated for the award, with the school taking runners-up in 2017.<\/p>\n
Assistant principal Ben McCredden said the award was terrific recognition for the hardworking pupils.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur SRC is an integral part of our school and has led to many improvements throughout the school.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are extremely passionate about their school and it was great for them to receive this award to recognise this commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n
For school captain Blake, it was a memorable experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was awesome!\u201d he said. \u201cI love our school and we often talk about leaving a legacy for others to aspire to. This award is something we will look back on proudly in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Education Minister James Merlino awarded the students their prize, which included a $1,800 cheque for the students to put to good use at the school.<\/p>\n
The SRC have worked tirelessly this year in ensuring students have a greater say in their learning. This included running a staff meeting, where students and teachers worked together to ensure everyone was on the same page.<\/p>\n
The SRC have also been proactive in planning a senior bike shed to add to the growing school, as well as changes to the uniform, music instead of bells and tweaking the behaviour processes throughout the school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
