\n1918, four bloody years of brutal conflict came to an end.<\/p>\n
Almost 62,000 Australians died fighting for our freedom and in service of our nation. Sunday\u00a0\u00a0 November 11, 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended World War I.<\/p>\n
In the four years of the war more than 330,000 Australians served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them died, including 33 men and one woman from the Drysdale District.<\/p>\n
The social effects of these losses cast a long shadow over the postwar decades.<\/p>\n
