{"id":17506,"date":"2018-11-14T09:03:54","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T09:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=17506"},"modified":"2018-11-14T11:09:18","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T11:09:18","slug":"grants-to-improve-coastal-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/grants-to-improve-coastal-access\/","title":{"rendered":"Grants to improve coastal access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANGLESEA\u2019S beach is one of 20 across the state that will benefit from more than $853,000 in state funding for coastal projects that reduce risk and improve public access to coastal Crown land.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) announced the successful projects last week.<\/p>\n<p>DELWP Manager of Statewide Coastal Programs, Angeline Charles said 11 of the projects were within the Barwon South West region, and the works would greatly benefit the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese include the construction of an all abilities access ramp in Port Fairy, installation of new beach access at Skenes Creek, the renewal of beach access at Warrnambool and a boardwalk upgrade at Wye River.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis funding will go a long way to ensuring our\u00a0community can continue to safely access and enjoy the wonderful amenity our coast offers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to all the coastal Crown land managers for successfully obtaining these grants, and on behalf of the community I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication in managing the coast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Coastal Public Access and Risk Grants is an annual Victorian government grants program that provides funding to coastal Crown land managers to undertake works that reduce public safety risk and improve access.<\/p>\n<p>All projects funded under the program must provide outcomes that contribute to the overall\u00a0objective of reducing risk on coastal Crown land.<\/p>\n<p>Projects eligible for funding include risk context development; risk identification, assessment and evaluation; risk treatment; and risk monitoring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ANGLESEA\u2019S beach is one of 20 across the state that will benefit from more than $853,000 in state funding for coastal projects that reduce risk and improve public access to coastal Crown land.
