Shrine of Remembrance Medal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Council congratulates Borough of Queenscliffe resident, Vietnam Veteran and former Councillor, Mr Graham Christie, on receiving the prestigious 2018 Shrine of Remembrance Medal.<\/p>\n

Since 2008, the Shrine of Remembrance Medal has provided recognition to an individual who or group that has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of community knowledge and understanding of the service and sacrifices made by Victorians for their country in times of war and peacekeeping.<\/p>\n

Graham served in Vietnam at Fire Support Patrol Bases of Coral and Balmoral. Within the Borough of Queenscliffe, Graham has played a major role in the annual marches and services for Anzac Day, Vietnam Veterans\u2019 Day and Remembrance Day.<\/p>\n

His dedication, his passion for the stories of all veterans and his commitment to ensure these stories are heard, acknowledged, remembered, and kept alive, are exceptional. Our region and our history are enriched by Graham\u2019s contribution and commitment to his fellow service people.<\/p>\n

Point Lonsdale\u00a0<\/strong>Lighthouse Reserve<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are calling for community feedback on key elements of the draft Landscape Masterplan for the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse Reserve. We have issued a Project Update to keep you informed about the draft Landscape Masterplan and works to date at the Lighthouse Reserve, and a survey so that you can have your say.<\/p>\n

The Project Update and Survey are also available online at Council\u2019s website, queenscliffe.vic.gov.au. Look out for the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse Reserve banner on our homepage. Alternatively, you can review the draft Landscape Masterplan and collect a survey at Council\u2019s offices at 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff.<\/p>\n

We will also hold a Community Open House Session this Saturday, November 24 between 10am and 11.30am at the Point Lonsdale Primary School Learning Commons, 22 Bowen Road, Point Lonsdale. Please feel free to drop in at any time during the session and speak with Councillors and Council officers about the draft Landscape Masterplan.<\/p>\n

Queenscliff\u00a0<\/strong>Music Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Queenscliff Music Festival kicks off this Friday, November 23 and we are delighted to be welcoming people from near and far to this iconic, hugely popular annual event. Council would like to congratulate the Festival organisers, staff and volunteers on another spectacular line up of artists that truly offers something for everyone.<\/p>\n

This year the Festival organisers have joined the war on waste with a goal of diverting 80 per cent of waste generated during the Festival away from landfill. Council asks that everyone remembers to use the range of waste and recycling options on offer within the Festival grounds and across the Borough to support the Festival organisers in achieving this goal.<\/p>\n

We also remind everyone that altered parking arrangements and road closures will apply around the Festival precinct. Please observe all advisory signs and directions.<\/p>\n

Hygeia Drive and Weeroona Parade will be closed to vehicles until 5pm on Wednesday, November 28.<\/p>\n

Symonds Street will be closed to vehicles between Gellibrand Street and Hygeia Drive until 5pm on Wednesday, November 28.<\/p>\n

Symonds Street will be closed to vehicles between Gellibrand Street and Wharf Street from 9am on Friday, November 23 to 8pm on Sunday, November 25.<\/p>\n

Gellibrand Street will be closed to vehicles between Wharf Street and Tobin Drive from 9am on Friday, November 23 to 8pm on Sunday, November 25.<\/p>\n

The JL Jordan Boat Ramp will remain open for the weekend, with no restricted access. Access to the Queenscliff Pier from Symonds Street will be closed from 9am on Friday, November 23 to 5pm on Wednesday, November 28. Pedestrian access and parking for the Pier from Tobin Drive and Wharf Street will remain available throughout the event.<\/p>\n
