More than 300,000 Victorians play golf at more than 350 courses across the state and Labor wants to extend its reputation as the golfing capital of Australia.
\nIf re-elected, a Labor government will invest $38,000 towards upgrading the Ocean Grove Golf Club.<\/p>\n
Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville said only Labor would improve the Ocean Grove Golf Club to attract even more golfers to the fantastic course to enjoy the coastal breeze and make their way along the fairway.<\/p>\n
“In four short years we\u2019ve hosted the World Cup of Golf and will host it again this week,” Premier Daniel Andrews said.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019ve secured the 2020 and 2022 Australian Open golf tournaments, and we\u2019ve secured the 2019 Presidents Cup \u2013 the third time we\u2019ve hosted this prestigious tournament.”
\nAcross the state Labor will also provide $2 million in grants for minor upgrades and equipment to golf clubs, with a number of priority projects earmarked for immediate funding.
\nLabor will also provide $160,000 over four years for four golf industry scholarships each year \u2013 these will cover golf journalism, golf professional, women\u2019s greenkeeper and golf course designer scholarships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
