THIS year\u2019s holiday cheer in Aireys Inlet will be sure to delight superhero fans.<\/p>\n
The annual community carols will centre the nativity story but with a modern-day twist, premiering the tale of how famous superheroes discover the Lord\u2019s saviour, baby Jesus, who may save the world before they do.<\/p>\n
Mary Bremner, one of the event organisers, said a group of children from the Aireys Inlet primary school were excitedly preparing for the play.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Christmas story has never been told quite like this before, but the message of the coming of Jesus to bring God\u2019s love to the world is there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Organised by the combined churches of Aireys Inlet \u2013 Anglican, Catholic and Uniting \u2013 the town\u2019s choir \u201cBlack with a Dash\u201d will perform with a band of local musicians to sing Christmas carols.<\/p>\n
In partnership with Uniting Care, event organisers are asking guests to bring along a Christmas gift or financial donation to be distributed to struggling families in the area.<\/p>\n
The evening will be hosted at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall on Sunday December 2 from 7.30pm.<\/p>\n
