CONSTRUCTION of Ocean Grove\u2019s new Kingston Village has started, with the state-of-the art shopping centre expected to open late next year.<\/p>\n
A sod turning recently took place to mark the milestone, which was attended by representatives from Lascorp Development Group, Kingston Estate and Bellarine councillors. Lascorp Development Group (Aust) National Development Manager Rob Harris said it had been a pleasure collaborating on the project with the Corless Family of Kingston Ocean Grove for the second time, the first being the hugely successful Ocean Grove Market Place development.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been many years in the making and we are so pleased that we have reached the construction stage,\u201d Mr Harris said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPreliminary construction works have commenced, and we have been advised by Kingston Ocean Grove that all roads and infrastructure internally for the subdivision will be completed by February 2019, to permit the development to proceed.<\/p>\n
\u201cRoadworks along Grubb Road for the new intersections are expected to commence early 2019 and will be completed prior to the opening of the centre.\u201d<\/p>\n
Major tenants of the centre, which is located on Grubb Road, include Woolworths, Aldi, Dan Murphy\u2019s, Jetts 24hr fitness, Direct Chemist Outlet,\u00a0medical centre, McDonalds and Caltex Fuel.<\/p>\n
In addition, there will be 25 specialty stores and office spaces, with over 550 car parking spaces.<\/p>\n
The $60 million-plus development will also provide work for more than 150 people during construction and once completed there will be approximately 600 full time positions available.<\/p>\n
The retail leasing campaign will start shortly, with the centre expected to open late November 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
