ST Leonards Beautification Committee member Marie Reed has captured some pathway and pothole flooding after the Bellarine region experienced heavy rain last week.<\/p>\n
Ms Reed said she walked around the Murradoc Road area to photograph a few troublesome spots to highlight her town\u2019s need for repairs.<\/p>\n
The photos follow the beautification committee\u2019s request to the City of Greater Geelong and VicRoads for some improvements in their town. Committee convenor Denis O’Bryan, along with three other members, took Bellarine councillors Stephanie Asher, Jim Mason and Trent Sullivan on a tour of 12 stops in October that were of concern to community\u00a0members.<\/p>\n
The committee inspected the town area and documented infrastructure and appearance, and then put their findings in a questionnaire to test community feeling.<\/p>\n
The group received 90 completed questionnaires and have now progressed the questionnaire results to a rough costing stage.<\/p>\n
The group has estimated it would cost about $1.7 million to carry out all their requested improvements to the town.<\/p>\n
