MELBOURNE Theatre Company\u2019s The Violent Outburst that Drew Me to You and Melbourne City Ballet\u2019s Alice in Wonderland has been announced as part of The Potato Shed 2019 theatre season.<\/p>\n
The audience were enthralled by rising musical theatre star Lorinda Merrypor, who belted out her\u00a0version of \u201cI Heard it Through the Grapevine\u201d.<\/p>\n
Merrypor showed why she is an in-demand performer, before the announcement that she will make her debut at the Potato Shed next July in Tony Brigg\u2019s award-winning play The Sapphires – released as a film in 2012 – which will be at the Shed over two big nights next July 2019.<\/p>\n
Dennis Coard (Home & Away, Blue Heelers) was on hand to give the audience an insight into his oneman\u00a0show, The Fall of the Roman Umpire, with the personal guarantee \u201cIf you don\u2019t laugh, you get your money back!\u201d.<\/p>\n
Cabaret is once again a strong\u00a0feature of the programme, with the return of the 2018\u00a0sold-out show Paris Underground.<\/p>\n
Anya Anastasia will present Executioner, and after touring the globe, Valerie Hex (aka James Welsby) dazzled the audience with her brand of breathtaking drag, dance, circus and burlesque, hitting the Potato Shed stage next May 2019 with YUMMY DELUX.<\/p>\n
A bit of southern USA style was added with the announcement of Sun Rising: The Songs that Made Memphis, written by Melbourne musicians Dave Cosma and Damon Smith.<\/p>\n
Cosma and Smith gave a stripped back performance of their show, celebrating Sun Studios, the acknowledged birthplace of rock n\u2019 roll, and don\u2019t miss HiT! Production\u2019s Waistwatchers \u2013 The Musical!<\/p>\n
