MEMBERS of the Ocean Grove & District Men\u2019s Shed say they shouldn\u2019t have to pay an electricity bill again thanks to a $9,500 grant from the Morrison Government\u2019s Stronger Communities Programme (SCP).<\/p>\n
Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson visited members on Friday to formally announce that the shed would receive the funding to help install a solar hot water system and solar panels on the roof to generate electricity.<\/p>\n
President Brian Mason said members now had enough money with the grant and their own contribution to install a 15 kVA\/42 panels on the roof.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey said you\u2019ll never have to pay another power bill,\u201d Mr Mason said.<\/p>\n
Members also hope to sell back into the grid, and want to install solar hot water as well.<\/p>\n
Ms Henderson said she was absolutely delighted to have worked with the shed members to help them secure the grant.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know it has been a mission for some time but it will make a huge difference to your power costs,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Ms Henderson announced that 14 Corangamite projects had so far received funding under Round 4 of the Morrison Government\u2019s SCP.<\/p>\n
Under the SCP, grants are available between $2,500 and $20,000 for a maximum of 20 projects in the Corangamite electorate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
