THE Kardinia Park Stadium Trust is on the lookout for a new chief executive officer, following Michael Brown\u2019s announcement he would step away from the job in February next year.<\/p>\n
Mr Brown, who joined the trust as chief executive\u00a0officer in 2015, is leaving the role to devote more time to his elderly parents.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kardinia Park and I am extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike many people, I find myself at a stage in my\u00a0life where our ageing parents are requiring more support and more of my time and now is the right time to give back to them. While I continue to have the passion for the role of chief executive, I must balance that with the needs of my family.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will continue to assist the stadium during the recruitment for my successor and I am looking forward to working with them closely through this process.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank the chair of the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, Michael Malouf, and my staff and colleagues for their support and friendship, especially during the most recent times as I balanced work and family needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am happy with what we have achieved during my tenure. We have attracted more international events to the stadium and have become a strong community partner.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Malouf said he accepted Mr Brown\u2019s decision \u201cwith great sadness and respect\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cMichael has been responsible for driving incredible results for the stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has attracted new and varied sport events, including Big Bash, Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Victory and the expansion into AFLW.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said the precinct had enjoyed the economic and social benefits of increased community events under Mr Brown\u2019s leadership such as the recent Festival of Sport, and stronger relationships with the Geelong Football Club.<\/p>\n
