{"id":18673,"date":"2018-12-19T14:51:05","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T14:51:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=18673"},"modified":"2018-12-19T19:29:13","modified_gmt":"2018-12-19T19:29:13","slug":"kip-mcgrath-chris-enjoyed-his-time-at-kip-mcgrath-makes-learning-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/kip-mcgrath-chris-enjoyed-his-time-at-kip-mcgrath-makes-learning-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Kip McGrath Chris enjoyed his time at Kip McGrath. makes learning fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Reading the messages from students\u00a0<\/strong><strong>in the guest book at Kip McGrath\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Torquay, the same comments come\u00a0<\/strong><strong>through again and again \u2013 \u201cI love\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Kip because it is fun\u2026 she makes\u00a0<\/strong><strong>learning fun\u2026 an amazing skill to\u00a0<\/strong><strong>make learning fun\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Behind all the fun is a solid system of teaching: tutors who are dedicated, qualified teachers, and a business owner with decades of experience and a passion for teaching children.<\/p>\n<p>Colleen Underwood was a primary and\u00a0secondary teacher in Geelong before making the move to manage and own Kip McGrath centres in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Three years ago she opened Kip McGrath Torquay, and the centre on the corner of Zeally Bay Road and Cliff Street has gone from strength to strength.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat sets us apart from other tutoring\u00a0program is that each student has their own individual program,\u201d Colleen said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the centre the students work on their individually tailored program in small groups, supervised by one of our fantastic teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colleen said the flexibility of doing onscreen lessons from home has been a huge growth area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParents love that they can fit in their child\u2019s tutoring with other after-school activities, but still have that live face-toface learning with a teacher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tutoring is available every night and Saturday mornings in the centre or through the onscreen program.<\/p>\n<p>Colleen is taking enrolments now for the popular summer school program \u201cBootcamp for Brains\u201d, a fun learning program to keep students focused in preparation for the start of the new school year. Bootcamp for Brains runs January 7-18.<\/p>\n<p>The last word, as always, goes to the students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne time when I was doing a group poster at school, one of the girls asked, \u2018is it ie or ei?\u2019 My brain went \u2018bing\u2019, \u2018i before e except after c\u2019 and everyone else said \u2018oh yeah!\u2019.
