Portarlington Community Information Booth events co-ordinator Jenny Tonzing said the 50 different local volunteer organisations worked cooperatively to put on a wide range of events along the foreshore and throughout the town.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are experts in pulling together, whether it is for something really big like the Mussel Festival, a music program on Australia Day, or poetry writing in the Neighbourhood House.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of the growing attractions of the town is the community market run by the Lions Club of Portarlington and Drysdale on the last Sunday of every month.<\/p>\n
The next one is on Sunday, December 30 and it will be a spectacular event with a 20 stall Witches Market, an artists\u2019 exhibition, roving buskers and entertainers, a Food Truck park and more than 90 general merchandising stalls selling everything from baby booties to hard-to-find treasures and curios. It promises to be a great day with something for everyone.<\/p>\n
Portarlington Business Development Association president John Rae said he was delighted that the monthly Lions Port Market was operating and it had the full support of the PBDA.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe first two markets have drawn large numbers of people and had a real buzz.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnother terrific undertaking from the Portarlington\/Drysdale Lions Club which will see further funds raised and invested in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
