THE Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House (QNH) is carrying out research that will help it plan for a strong inclusive community that welcomes people from all walks of life.<\/p>\n
For the past 30 years, the QNH has been a point of contact for people in the local community to share interests, build knowledge and skills and have fun in a supportive friendly environment.<\/p>\n
During this time, the activities and the actual\u00a0site of the house has changed to reflect the growing needs of the local community.<\/p>\n
At this time of further growth and change in Queenscliff Borough and surrounds, the QNH Committee of Management have initiated a Community Needs Assessment and enlisted Rose Ott to co-ordinate the project work.<\/p>\n
Since early November, Rose has been working on a range of strategies that will give people opportunities to provide feedback and suggestions about their experiences and access to the programs and facilities offered at the house.<\/p>\n
QNH is never short of volunteers and a group of very experienced people have come forward to assist with this project.<\/p>\n
Over January and February, the group will be facilitating kitchen table conferences and focus groups to hear from people covering all age groups.<\/p>\n
An online survey has also been developed so that feedback is received from people who currently use the facility and those who may wish to do so in the future.<\/p>\n
The survey also offers people who own holiday homes in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, a way to put forward their comments and suggestions for the house.<\/p>\n
A final report will be collated from the surveys that will help the house along with other organisations to plan for a strong inclusive community that welcomes people from all walks of life.<\/p>\n
