MORE than 30 businesses across the Bellarine are taking part in the fourth annual glass art Treasure Hunt, which runs until mid-February as part of the 2019 Festival of Glass.<\/p>\n
Each participating business is displaying a piece of glass art commissioned from a local artist; and the 33 pieces are prizes in a draw at the Festival Expo on Sunday February 17 at Drysdale\u2019s Christian College.<\/p>\n
Each business is also displaying a glass \u2018Tiny Treasure\u2019.<\/p>\n
When a treasure hunter finds it, the business stamps their entry form; and each entry form stamped by 10 businesses can enter the Treasure Hunt draw.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone wins in our Treasure Hunt,\u201d organiser Diane Schofield said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBusinesses can increase their custom, glass artists can increase their public profile and treasure hunters can win beautiful glass art.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re very grateful to our major sponsors Leura Park Estate, Eyehub Optometrists, DJ\u2019s Smokehouse Grill and The Bungalow,\u201d Ms Schofield said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also thank the other 29 businesses for their support, especially the Bendigo Bank, Chris Walsh\u2019s Pharmacy, Pier View Lolly Shop, Ronnie\u2019z Cafe & Takeaway, Joshae Hair and Beauty, Miss Lillypilly and Surf Junction.\u201d<\/p>\n
As well as the Treasure Hunt, the 2019 Festival of Glass includes a glass art exhibition running currently at Drysdale\u2019s Caf\u00e9 Zoo; renowned glass artists from Venice and Montreal blowing and sculpting glass at The Range, Curlewis (February 16); glass art classes; and a huge Expo at Drysdale\u2019s Christian College (February 17), featuring 40 exhibitors, Glass Art Awards and glass art demonstrations.<\/p>\n
