KIDS enjoyed a huge day of fun outside while adults dressed to impress for a corporate luncheon inside at this year\u2019s Batman Management Group Bellarine Cup.<\/p>\n
Whichever way people choose to experience racing at Geelong, they were sure to enjoy a day that had it all.<\/p>\n
Geelong Racing Club chief executive officer Daniel Salter said that after a very successful Boxing Day race meeting, it was another big day out at Geelong with the third running of the Batman Management Group Bellarine Cup Day.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great time of year to be racing in Geelong with everyone down on the coast enjoying the Christmas and New Year holidays,\u201d Mr Salter said \u201cThe people and businesses on the Bellarine Peninsula are very supportive of the day and were fantastic in helping raise money for local charity Kids Plus. More than 1,500 people enjoyed the day highlighted by the corporate luncheon in the Silks room for 200 guests, with live entertainment after the last race.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Salter said it was a great atmosphere on course with Kelly Sports providing plenty of entertainment for the kids.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe big screen showed all the great racing action and kept the cricket fans happy with the live test match coverage from Sydney,\u201d he said Gold coin donations from general admission and $25 from each luncheon ticket was donated to the Kids Plus Foundation, totalling $10,000.<\/p>\n
The GRC helped charities raise more than $150,000 last year.<\/p>\n
