GUESTS enjoyed the delights of a High Tea at Caf\u00e9 Zoo in Drysdale recently while watching local glass artist Glenda MacNaughton blowingand sculpting glass.<\/p>\n
The occasion was the launch of the 2019 Festival of Glass Treasure Hunt, which has more than 100 pieces of locally-made glass art as prizes and involves 33 businesses in Curlewis, Drysdale, Clifton Springs and Portarlington.<\/p>\n
Treasure Hunt organiser Diane Schofield said everywhere she looked, people were tucking-in to the yummy food, watching Ms MacNaughton blowing glass or talking about what she was doing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 10 door prizes of glass bookmarks and decorations were especially popular,\u201d Ms Schofield said.<\/p>\n
This is the Festival\u2019s third annual Treasure Hunt and the launch was booked out two weeks in advance.<\/p>\n
Caf\u00e9 Zoo owner Marc Rodway said he was very pleased that the High Tea was so popular. \u201cIt was a great way to start this year\u2019s Festival of Glass Treasure Hunt,\u201d Mr Rodway said.<\/p>\n
The Treasure Hunt is the first event on the 2019 Festival of Glass calendar, which also includes an Expo with 45 exhibitors, the annual Glass Art Awards and demonstrations and classes by renowned glass artists Davide Penso (from Murano, Italy) and Karina Guevin and C\u00e9dric Ginart (both from Montreal, Canada).<\/p>\n
