ANIMAL lovers from the Bellarine Keen- Agers Table Tennis Club gathered for a breakfast on Australia Day to help raise funds for the Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS).<\/p>\n
Table tennis member Pauline Cline hosted the breakfast, which included a raising of the Australian flag, where everyone crowded around to sing the Australian National Anthem.<\/p>\n
This was followed by a fully cooked breakfast and the usual choice of breakfast goodies during which there was a lot of chatter and jokes.<\/p>\n
The session ended late morning with an Australian-based quiz, followed by much laughter and guffaws as the answers were provided.<\/p>\n
Mrs Cline, alias \u2018The Jam Lady\u2019 in and around Drysdale, has raised funds in past years for various charities by the sale of her jams and relishes, and was the recipient of the money raised at the breakfast.<\/p>\n
The jams consumed at the breakfast were made by Mrs Cline and this \u201ctaste test\u201d helped to sell some more of her jars.<\/p>\n
With these amounts added to her jam sales in January, and boosted by some generous donations, Mrs Cline was able her to make her first donation of $1000 to GAWS, her chosen charity for this year.<\/p>\n
