PINT-SIZED entrepreneurs from Queenscliff Primary School have come up with a sweet way to fundraise.<\/p>\n
Students are running a homemade lemonade stand at community events and markets to help raise money to install air-conditioning at their school, which will cost about $17,000.<\/p>\n
A handful of students and a couple of parent helpers trialled the lemonade stand at the recent Queenscliff Rod Run, which raised an impressive $650.<\/p>\n
Mum Noelle Roob said students were \u201cbeside themselves\u201d after finding out the grand total of how much they had raised throughout the day.<\/p>\n
Mrs Roob said the stand also allowed the children to learn new skills, such as working out how much change they needed to return to customers.<\/p>\n
She said the students aimed to help raise the funds throughout the year with lemonade stands at every Queenscliff market, which will be held on the last Sunday of the month (excluding June, July and August) at Princess Park.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, next time we are looking at parents including a cake stall, to accompany the lemonade, to make a bit more money\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Along with money raised from the homemade lemonade stand, Queenscliff Point Lonsdale Community Enterprise (QPLCE) has donated a $3,000 community grant, and Mrs Roob said school parents had donated \u201ca couple of thousand dollars\u201d to the project.<\/p>\n
