THOUSANDS of spectators took a shine to the hundreds of vehicles that rolled up at Elephant Walk on Sunday for the Torquay Rotary Motor Show.<\/p>\n
The Torquay Rotary Club organised the event and thanked the entrants in the 32 classes, the spectators and all of the volunteers and sponsors, particularly the RACV, who made the show possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile we are still compiling the final numbers, it appears that we had in excess of 400 cars and some 6,000 visitors attend the show, and early calculations would suggest that we have again cleared in excess of $20,000 after expenses to go towards local, national and international Rotary projects – a great result for our club.\u201d<\/p>\n
The outright winner of the show was Jane Hallam with her 1956 Jaguar XK140.<\/p>\n
