FOUR Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre volunteers have celebrated 15 years of service.<\/p>\n
Judy Compton, Cora Biggins, Jackie Taylor and Pat Theodore each recently celebrated 15 years of volunteering with the Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre, which Mayor Bob Merriman said was a fantastic achievement.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis significant milestone is a testament to the quartet\u2019s dedication to providing visitors to our town with local knowledge and information on attractions and things to see and do,\u201d Cr Merriman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith their collective local expertise, Judy, Cora, Jackie and Pat have provided countless visitors with invaluable hints and tips, helping tourists to get the most from staying in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n
After retiring to Point Lonsdale in 2000, grandmother of two, Judy became a volunteer in 2003.<\/p>\n
Some of the things Judy most enjoys about being a volunteer at the Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre is working with a wonderful group of like-minded people, their famils and regular nights out.<\/p>\n
Cora grew up in Queenscliff and has been involved in a number of volunteering services including Barwon Health Andrew Love Cancer Centre. Cora retired from the Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre in December 2018, after clocking up 15 years of service.<\/p>\n
Jackie holidayed in Point Lonsdale from 1982 and moved to the area permanently when she retired 16 years ago.<\/p>\n
A former journalist, Jackie has also been a Heritage Guide at the Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre.<\/p>\n
Pat volunteers regularly on a Sunday morning and loves interacting with visitors, helping to make their stay more enjoyable so that they will return in the future.<\/p>\n
Pat is also the centre\u2019s social coordinator and regularly organises monthly social gatherings to keep the team united.<\/p>\n
The Visitor Information Centre is located at 55 Hesse Street, Queenscliff and is open from 9am until 5pm, every day except Christmas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
