Queenscliff Primary School students will be treated to a full day of music and cultural workshops today (Thursday) facilitated by a line-up of international guests.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organised by Boxwood Australia, 102 students will take part in song, movement, tin whistle and home-made instruments using locally found objects, plus a little performance for the parents at pick-up time.<\/p>\n

Following on from the school day is the Boxwood Festival, which runs from February 22 to 25 \u2013 a four-day immersion weekend of traditional and early music, featuring international guest tutors and participants from across Victoria.<\/p>\n

Then a Boxwood Concert, held at Queenscliff Town Hall on February 23 at 7.30pm, is a celebration of excellentquality traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, Maritime Canada and our shared heritage.<\/p>\n

The annual event will feature performances by some of the most exciting and notable performers in traditional and baroque music, including Chris Norman (traditional flutes, Scottish small pipes, songs), John Carty (Irish fiddle, banjo, flute), Rennie Pearson (flute, whistle), Shane Lestideau (Baroque violin and Scottish fiddle), and Andy Rigby (harp).<\/p>\n
