{"id":21056,"date":"2019-03-13T21:01:03","date_gmt":"2019-03-13T21:01:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=21056"},"modified":"2019-03-13T21:01:20","modified_gmt":"2019-03-13T21:01:20","slug":"breakthrough-win-for-the-surf-coast-suns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/breakthrough-win-for-the-surf-coast-suns\/","title":{"rendered":"Breakthrough win for the Surf Coast Suns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Surf Coast Suns Football Netball Club are perching their first premiership cup on the top shelf of their display cabinet, with the club\u2019s U13 Girls Netball team defeating the Torquay Tigers in a nail-biting grand final at Kardinia Park on Friday March 8.<\/p>\n<p>Participating in Geelong Junior Netball\u2019s summer competition, the Surf Coast Suns\u2019 U13 Girls Netball team finished the season on top of the ladder under coaching by Shandelle Dean, walking away with a seven-goal victory against the Torquay Tigers (Suns 15 \u2013 Tigers 8).<\/p>\n<p>Surf Coast Suns netball committee member Amber Potter said the win was an exciting step for the club\u2019s growing number of players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI joined the committee for netball so that boys and girls could have the opportunity to compete in a fun but laid-back environment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we are welcoming the biggest cohort, with eight teams competing in the upcoming season.
