{"id":21168,"date":"2019-03-20T14:22:52","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T14:22:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=21168"},"modified":"2019-03-20T22:48:07","modified_gmt":"2019-03-20T22:48:07","slug":"state-of-the-art-learning-spaces-set-to-open-within-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/state-of-the-art-learning-spaces-set-to-open-within-months\/","title":{"rendered":"State-of-the-art learning spaces set to open within months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAINT Ignatius College\u2019s latest building project is well under way, with students looking forward to accessing the completed Year 9 and Multi-Purpose Centres mid-year.<\/p>\n<p>Construction is taking place on vacant land in the south-east corner of the Drysdale campus, with the project set to provide students with quality facilities that will significantly enhance their learning environment.<\/p>\n<p>It will also represent a strong visual statement about the College\u2019s presence as an outstanding faith and academic community.<\/p>\n<p>The new Multipurpose Centre will enable students and staff to meet together again as a community under the one roof.<\/p>\n<p>After many years of classes in relocatable rooms, future Year 9 students can look forward to learning in state-of-the-art, purpose-designed learning spaces comparable to all other student Centres of the College.<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian State Government has generously provided $2 million for the Multi-Purpose Centre, while the Commonwealth Government has provided an equally generous $2.1 million for the Year 9 Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The Year 9 Centre will comprise 10 classrooms, break-out spaces, teacher offices and toilets, while the Multipurpose Centre will boast two indoor basketball courts, seating (for up to 1500), fitness room, PE lab, foyer, offices, toilets\/showers and storage.<\/p>\n<p>Saint Ignatius College will host an Open Day on&nbsp;Sunday March 24 between 11am and 2pm.
