SEVEN close mates from Torquay took the plunge on Saturday March 16 and shaved their heads to raise much-needed funds for the Cancer Council.<\/p>\n
Local Tom Loughnane was the frontrunner in organising the event, selecting Boardriders Bar 61 as the hair chop destination.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family has been unfortunate, inheriting a genetic mutation which increases our chances of developing gastric and lobular breast cancers,\u201d he said on the \u201cDo It For Cancer\u201d event page.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough there is yet to be a cure found, we’re losing the locks to raise funds to try help make a positive impact on those fighting cancer, with the hope that someday soon we can make the breakthrough and achieve a cancer free future.\u201d<\/p>\n
