AN INNOVATIVE new technology is taking on weeds across bushlands, parks and the coast without chemicals using steam weed machinery.<\/p>\n
Otway Environmental owner Troy Fynmore said his business was not your standard natural resource management company, with their steam systems ensuring they killed weeds without having to use chemicals.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur steam systems use the latest technology to heat water to 120 degrees through a diesel boiler, and with our various applicator heads we can instantly kill all herbaceous weeds, chemical free.<\/p>\n
\u201cNatural assets such as bush lands, parks and coast lines deserve holistic management to help safeguard the ecology throughout it, supporting and encouraging best use practices.”<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition to this, public space and amenities such as footpaths, garden beds, schools, community gardens can be managed chemical free.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Fynmore said his business – which provides steaming, revegetation, land planning and management services across greater the Geelong, Surf Coast, Colac, Otways and Corangamite – was ideal for chemically sensitive areas such as near waterways, around schools, playgrounds, habitat areas, parks and private residences.<\/p>\n
