Warralily\u2019s new 7.5-hectare sports precinct, including senior and junior ovals, netball courts, a sports pavilion, community open space, children\u2019s playground and car parking will become a welcome part of life at Warralily later this month.<\/p>\n
The $7.4 million public infrastructure, developed by Warralily, the City of Greater Geelong and State Government, is perfectly positioned by the Armstrong Creek School and Village Warralily, as well as being connected to the estate\u2019s landscaped creek centrepiece and homes by the pathway network.<\/p>\n
The precinct will provide residents with opportunities to keep fit, build friendships and feel part of a team \u2014 as well as give local clubs the facilities they need to grow and prosper.<\/p>\n
The new Armstrong Creek Sharks Junior Football Club will be calling the new precinct on Central Boulevard home and are excited by the opportunity to provide a pathway for local children to participate in AFL. Community response to the new club\u2019s U9, U11 and U13 program has been positive, following the success of the Warralily sponsored Armstrong Creek Auskick program that saw more than 60 children participate this year.<\/p>\n
The Armstrong United FC, currently the biggest sporting club in the region, will also move in after a hugely successful first year of operation in 2018. The club aims to rapidly expand over 2019-2020 with plans for further teams to join our current U\/7\u2019s, U\/9\u2019s, U\/11\u2019s, Senior Men\u2019s and Senior Women\u2019s teams.
