THE state government is giving the community the chance to have their say on the name of a new government school opening in Armstrong Creek West next year.<\/p>\n
South Barwon MP Darren Cheeseman said the Victorian School Building Authority would consult with local communities on naming new schools now under construction and set to open in 2020.<\/p>\n
This will include a name for the new primary school opening in Unity Drive in Armstrong Creek, which has the interim name of Armstrong Creek West Primary School.<\/p>\n
Community engagement will begin in Term 2, and people will be able to provide feedback across multiple channels such as online and social media.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re giving the Armstrong Creek community the opportunity to shape the character of this brand-new school,\u201d Mr Cheeseman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is your chance to put forward a school name that reflects the unique character of our area.\u201d<\/p>\n
Labor says it will open 100 new government schools over the next eight years.<\/p>\n
New schools will open next year in Greater Geelong, Ballarat, Casey, Greater Dandenong, Hume, Mitchell and Wyndham. A new school campus for Beveridge Primary School is also under construction and will open next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
