THE achievements of the Bellarine Peninsula Basketball Association were recognised at the annual Basketball Victoria Country Awards held recently in Bendigo.<\/p>\n
Bellarine Peninsula won the Outstanding Achievement by a Large Association, alongside Echuca (Medium Association) and Wonthaggi (Small Association).<\/p>\n
BVC general manager David Huxtable said the BVC Awards reflected the brilliant work the associations and clubs achieved every year.<\/p>\n
\u201cCongratulations to all the award winners on an incredible 2018 \u2013 it was another bumper year for country Victorian basketball and we\u2019re thrilled to highlight your achievements,\u201d Mr Huxtable said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe encourage all players, coaches, referees and associations to continue submitting for the awards next year, as recognition is justly deserved for a number of elite individuals and associations throughout our country basketball community.\u201d<\/p>\n
For his 43 years of incredible service to the country Victorian basketball across a number of different areas, Wayne Royal (Traralgon) was named the 2018 Jack Terrill Medallist.<\/p>\n
Junior player awards were also won by Australian junior duo Jay Rantall (Warrnambool), Jade Melbourne (Traralgon) while Joel Anderson (Ballarat) and Ainslie Howard (Corio Bay) claimed coaching awards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
