VOLUNTEERS have worked tirelessly to organise and hold yet another successful Annual Easter Art Show in Drysdale, while raising about $17,000 for a worthy cause.<\/p>\n
Run by the Rotary Club of Drysdale, many hands made light work for those who came together to put on the show for its 43rd year on Easter Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n
Caroline Rickard said there was a lot of work for the club to pull together but the fun they had doing it made it all worthwhile.<\/p>\n
\u201cEspecially when you can raise in the vicinity of $17,000 to give away,\u201d Ms Rickard said.<\/p>\n
This year, the club decided to again support the Barwon Health, Rotary Volunteer Patient Transport Program.<\/p>\n
This program provides transport and support to people who have no other travel arrangements to attend essential medical appointments.<\/p>\n
One hundred and 12 artists entered around 425 pieces of art work, ranging from landscapes to contemporary and everything in between from far and wide, which were displayed in Christian College\u2019s sports stadium to showcase the many mediums and talents to a much wider audience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year was no exception,\u201d Ms Rickard said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA team of willing workers set up boards, hung paintings, sold raffle tickets for the Barwon Health Rotary Volunteer Patient Transport Program, dismantled the boards and over a four-day period, and have agreed to do it all again next year.\u201d<\/p>\n
