{"id":23264,"date":"2019-05-02T03:31:52","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T03:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=23264"},"modified":"2019-05-02T03:32:48","modified_gmt":"2019-05-02T03:32:48","slug":"three-times-a-charm-for-ocean-grove-blues-muso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/three-times-a-charm-for-ocean-grove-blues-muso\/","title":{"rendered":"Three times a charm for Ocean Grove blues muso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ocean Grove musician Andrea&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Robertson is preparing to launch&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>her third independent album, which&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>was recorded over two sessions in&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>front of a live audience.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Titled Live at New Hall, the album is a result of a grassroots project that saw local creatives collaborate from start to finish.<\/p>\n<p>Produced in October last year at Point Lonsdale\u2019s New Hall, Andrea\u2019s third record captures her blues infused style and features 18 original songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy previous two releases were studio albums and I wanted to challenge myself by approaching the next recording in a different way,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d often thought that I\u2019d love to do a live recording, to try to capture what I we can do performing live, when we\u2019ve got an audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of my favourite albums have been recorded live.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is just a lovely, raw energy about them that can\u2019t always be captured with a studio album.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After winning a Queenscliff Music Festival Emerging Artist Grant in 2017 and chatting with late blues legend, Chris Wilson, Andrea decided to turn her curiosities into a reality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was actually Chris who helped me arrive at this decision by giving me some wise and valued advice, which happened on numerous occasions throughout my career,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe advice feels all the more precious to me now that he is no longer with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andrea\u2019s soulful, acoustic album \u2013 which was captured by local sound producer and engineer Nick Huggins \u2013 will be released on vinyl and launched on Friday May 17 at Bouchon at Bellarine (Bellarine Estate) with Sarah Carroll as special guest artist.<\/p>\n<p>Andrea will also perform a string of gigs around regional Victoria, including Geelong, Ocean Grove, Queenscliff, Coburg, Castlemaine, Macedon, Bendigo, Daylesford, Beechworth, Wandiligong and Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>To get tickets to the launch, visit trybooking.com\/BCBLM or head to Andrea\u2019s website <strong>andrearobertson.com.au<\/strong> for more details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ocean Grove musician Andrea&nbsp;Robertson is preparing to launch&nbsp;her third independent album, which&nbsp;was recorded over two sessions in&nbsp;front of a live audience.
