PRIMARY schools in St Leonards and Clifton Springs will receive $50,000 each for projects if a Labor government is elected this weekend.<\/p>\n
Labor Candidate for Corangamite Libby Coker said if Labor formed government, St Leonards Primary School would receive $50,000 to convert an existing large shed into a proper workroom suitable for science and arts projects, while Clifton Springs Primary School would receive $50,000 to create an outdoor amphitheatre for musical performances and outside lessons and to upgrade its basketball courts.<\/p>\n
Ceres Primary School would also receive $50,000 for an outdoor learning area.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis will give St Leonards a space where students can make a mess, create, tinker and store long term projects that need to be worked on over several weeks,\u201d Ms Coker said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe proposed amphitheatre at Clifton Springs will enable a wide range of uses and add to its strong music program by providing a quality outdoor performance space.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe basketball courts upgrade is important for health and safety reasons, given its heavy use by the school and community.<\/p>\n
This commitment is on top of the extra $15.2 million for teaching and learning Corangamite public schools will receive in the first three years of a Shorten Labor Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
