Set in the world of the iconic Pok\u00e9mon franchise, this story focuses on Tim Goodman (Justice Smith), a 21-year-old man who believes he\u2019s outgrown the need for a Pok\u00e9mon partner.<\/p>\n
But, when Tim\u2019s detective father, Harry Goodman, vanishes under mysterious circumstances, Tim winds up traveling to Ryme City, a metropolis where humans and Pok\u00e9mon live side by side in harmony.<\/p>\n
While there, Tim encounters his father\u2019s Pok\u00e9mon partner, a Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) that just happens to be able to talk.<\/p>\n
Teaming up to solve the mystery, Tim and Pikachu follow each little clue to a dastardly plot that threatens the very peace of the Pok\u00e9mon world.<\/p>\n
This movie is amazingly good. It doesn\u2019t sound like it should be, but it is.<\/p>\n
Given how dense the Pok\u00e9mon franchise is, the filmmakers were able to present a vibrant and spellbinding world that\u2019s able to stand on its own.<\/p>\n
The film\u2019s animators deserve significant praise, as the Pok\u00e9mon look absolutely stunning.<\/p>\n
The two lead characters also add heart to the film, which is always an important element.<\/p>\n
Tim is a relatable young man who has a good dollop of dry humour in his character. This matches nicely with Pikachu\u2019s snark and the bond you see develop between the pair truly is touching.<\/p>\n
While this movie is silly, that doesn\u2019t make it bad. It\u2019s probably one of the best video game films to date.<\/p>\n
Its story is also very different from the core game series or the anime, making it unique as well as entertaining.<\/p>\n
Though not everyone will be interested in this movie, it\u2019s most definitely a fun ride.I\u2019d recommend it to any Pok\u00e9mon fan or
