KELLY Herbert jokes that she had a back-up plan if her beloved Tigers didn\u2019t win the flag at the weekend after she got a \u201cPremiers\u201d tattoo three days before the game.<\/p>\n
The Drysdale mum won tickets to the AFL Grand Final through radio station bay 93.9, but on the condition she got a Tigers tattoo beforehand with the words \u201cPremiers 2017\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did have a back-up plan, though,\u201d Kelly said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was going to get \u2018almost\u2019 tattooed next to \u2018Premiers\u2019 if we lost.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was hopeful we would win, but I was still pretty nervous!\u201d<\/p>\n
Kelly was happy to answer the call when bay 93.9 began its search for Geelong\u2019s biggest footy fanatic.<\/p>\n
But Kelly had to put her money where her mouth was \u2013 or in this case, her ankle \u2013 in a bid to win the most coveted of prizes, a double pass to the Richmond-Adelaide Grand Final.<\/p>\n
Kelly said on Monday that she was still in disbelief about winning the tickets and watching her team defeat the Crows on Saturday.<\/p>\n
She took her dad John to the game and said her whole family was in tears after the win.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust to hear the roar of the crowd and the song being sung over and over again, it was one of the best days of my life!\u201d<\/p>\n
The lifelong Tigers fan is the great grand-daughter of Richmond\u2019s Barney Herbert, a dual premiership player at Richmond and past president of the club.<\/p>\n
Born with Tigers passion in her blood, Kelly took to the table at Geelong tattoo shop Wise Monkey last week, who coincidentally were also Richmond tragics.<\/p>\n
After a little hesitation, some ums and ahs and a horrified \u201cit\u2019s bigger than I thought it would be,\u201d Kelly gritted her teeth and allowed the Wise Monkey team to get to work.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was just super excited to be there and for the Tigers to win,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been celebrating since Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, K Rock listener Tom from the Bellarine last week called up to complain that he lived too far from McDonalds and that he\u2019d need a Macca\u2019s fix for his post-grand final celebrations.<\/p>\n
After hearing this, Tom and Buckle thought they would bring the Macca\u2019s to him, via the most epic way they could think of \u2013 a helicopter.<\/p>\n
On Sunday morning following the Tigers win, Tom, Buckle and pilot Chad from Geelong Helicopters took off from the Geelong foreshore and landed on Tom\u2019s property for a chow down of hash browns and McMuffins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
